How to configure scripts once you sign up?
To be able to customize the look and feel of your remote cgi scripts, you first need to log into our Admin interface. There are two ways to login, either goto our homepage at http://www.cgispy.com, or click on the 'Login' tab at the top of the page. Then enter your user name and password within the form provided, and click Submit. You will then be processed into our Admin interface where you can then click on the cgi script you wish to customize.
What does CGI mean?
CGI is an acronym meaning Common Gateway Interface, which means a programming language we use and the internet together, on a common interface. So everything works and understands each other.
How can this service be free?
We are able to offer these great CGI services for FREE because we run advertising banners within our scripts. We also receive financial backing from the good people of Danworld, Inc.
Who programs your scripts?
All scripts on CGISpy.com were not written by us. The majority are, but there are a few which are not, such as our auctions script. Scripts that were not written by us will say so on the script. But as for the other scripts we offer, they are written by Mike Mangione of CGISpy.com.
Is it possible to upload my own scripts?
Sorry, you may NOT put your scripts on CGISpy. We only offer pre-made scripts, allowing you to upload your own would compromise our server safety.
Can you change the sample code provided by CGISpy?
Yes, of course you can! The sample codes are there only as a sample or suggestion. By no means do you have to use our sample code.
What's your SPAM (Unsolicited Email) policy?
CGISpy.com is greatly against any type of spam. Any user found to be using our services (such as mailing list and search egnine) for spam, will be removed from our service, and the proper authorities will be contacted in the meantime. We may also fine you.
How can I link back to CGISpy?
We always appreciate a link back to us, if you would like to link to CGISpy, you can find our banners at http://www.cgispy.com/support/linkus.html. There is also a link provided above in the tab section.
How do I edit or delete my account info?
To delete your account, you nee to go to the Utilities section in the Admin, and click on the link that says delete account. Once there, enter your email address and reason for deletion and your account will be removed. To edit account info, such as passwords etc., please use the Edit Account link in the Admin System.
Who do I report site errors to?
Please send any error you might find to Webmaster@CGISpy.com, or Mike@CGISpy.com.
Do your scripts work with foreign languages?
Our scripts are very customizable, you can add your own HTML headers and footers to them. But as far as script text and so on, it is mainly written in English. We may add this feature later on as the service grows in size.
Do you provide demos for the scripts?
Yes, we have a demo of every script available at CGISpy.com. All you need to do to find these demos, is go to our main page at http://www.cgispy.com and click on the script you want a demo of. It will take you to a script information page, and from there you can click on the view demo link, or there will be demo on the page.
How many accounts can I signup for?
We currently have a limit of 7 accounts per member. Users having more than 7 accounts, will be emailed, and if there is no good reason for the number of accounts, then some accounts will be deleted.
How do I add a question to this FAQ section?
